Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and GRETIFY s. r. o. for the use of MARAEL. Please read them — MARAEL deals with something irreversible, so it matters that we are honest about what it does and does not promise.
What MARAEL is — and is not
MARAEL lets you record personal video, audio and text messages and have them delivered to people you choose after your death is confirmed by your trusted verifiers. It is a way to say goodbye and leave words that matter.
MARAEL is not a will, a legal instrument, or a substitute for legal, financial or medical advice. It carries personal messages, not binding instructions.
Your account
You need an account to arm the delivery switch, because it must keep running while your phone is off, lost or offline. You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information. Keep your sign-in secure; we recommend enabling the extra verification MARAEL offers. You are responsible for activity under your account.
Trial, free plan and subscription
MARAEL includes a 30-day trial with every feature unlocked. After the trial it continues on a free plan you keep, with an optional Premium subscription (monthly or yearly) for more. Subscriptions are billed through the App Store or Google Play under their terms; prices are shown in your local currency in the app. You can cancel anytime in your store account; cancellation stops future renewals. One trial per store account. Whatever you have already recorded remains deliverable even if Premium later lapses.
Your messages and content
Every message is recorded live in the app — there is no import from your library, by design. You keep ownership of your content. You agree not to record anything unlawful, or content that harasses, threatens, or infringes others’ rights. A brief on-device safety check runs before a message is sealed; explicit imagery is blocked. You are responsible for what you record and for whom you nominate.
The people you nominate
By adding recipients, verifiers and an emergency contact, you confirm you have a genuine basis to share their details with us for this purpose. They are contacted only for their role and may withdraw. Choose verifiers you trust; delivery depends on at least two of three confirming.
How delivery works — and its limits
Delivery is deliberately slow and guarded: a long silence window, escalating reminders, an emergency contact, then two-of-three verifier confirmation, then a final grace period only you can stop. We designed this to make a false trigger extremely unlikely.
Still, MARAEL depends on things outside our control — your verifiers acting, valid contact details, and the platforms and networks working. We provide the service with reasonable care but cannot guarantee that a message will be delivered, delivered on time, or that a verification will occur. Do not rely on MARAEL as your only means of passing on anything critical.
Acceptable use
Don’t misuse MARAEL: no unlawful content, no impersonation, no attempts to break, probe or overload the service, and no use to harm or deceive others. We may suspend accounts that do.
If your subscription ends
If you stop paying, nothing is deleted abruptly — there is a long grace period and your verifiers are notified before anything is lost. Your messages and configuration stay on your account and follow you to any device you sign in on, and you can ask us for a copy of your data at any time at info@marael.app, so nothing is ever locked in.
Disclaimers and liability
MARAEL is provided “as is”, without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for a failure to deliver caused by factors outside our reasonable control. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms or the service; material changes will be notified where appropriate, and the date above reflects the current version. You may stop using MARAEL at any time and delete your account from the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic, where GRETIFY s. r. o. is established, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence.
